When filing to extend an L1 status with USCIS, the normal processing time can be well over 6 months. However, an applicant can upgrade to Premium Processing service for an extra $2,500.00 and receive a government response within 15 days.

But what about immediate dependent family members included in the application?

Until recently, even when the principal applicant upgraded to Premium Processing service, the dependent family application was not also given the same upgraded processing time, leading to long periods where the dependent family members had to wait to receive their approvals.

Recently, USCIS made a policy change, whereby dependent family members who were included as dependents in the principal's application, would receive the same processing time as the principal applicant.
